Travel Advice / Stories from Afar.

Always get dropped off at your destination regardless of guilt that you are Putting people 'out of their way'
your safety is paramount. Even if you think you could walk it / wing it. Don't chance it.
I was on a coach back from a fashion show in China - I asked to be dropped off at a roundabout I
knew was close to my gated complex where I lived.

Once exited I realised I was the only female on a dark dusty 3 lanes roundabout at pitch black night
with few street lamps in factory China. Most men have only seen a white female on tv. So I obviously
looked a Bit out place. In fairness the Chinese are harmless but I had a crowd of over 40 harmless
men surrounding me asking me a hundred different questions getting louder and louder every second
to compete for attention. And getting closer and closer.

In a panic I ran into the road to flag a taxi. They couldn't see me for the crowd around me that was
beginning to seriously panic me.
In my shocking mandarin I told him my address and he replied'but it is so close?' I shouted 'Go Go Go!! '
he took the opportunity to charge triple. A fair charge to rescue a lady.

25 mins later Calm and collected in my living room. Pulse back to normal I knew that if I was in most
other counties in the world I would have been mugged / attacked or worse. So I'm glad that China
taught me this lesson.
